Good news: Two Courses of SA&D Listed as the First Batch of National First-class Undergraduate Courses
According to the Ministry of Education, November 30, 50 courses of SWJTU are among the firsts to be recognized as state-level first-class undergraduate courses, including 26 online courses and 7 virtual simulation experiment courses, respectively tied for 16th and 14th place in China. Meanwhile, we have two virtual simulation courses listed: Integrated Design of Overground and Underground Building of High Speed Railway Station and Inner Layout and Color Matching Design of Metro Vehicle.
The national first-class undergraduate course launched this time has four remarkable characteristics: first, the courses are all high quality, which can be proved by a wide participation of senior professors and academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering; second, courses cover a large variety of selections, including professional, basic, general, experimental and social practice courses; third, there is a wide range of participation from key universities to local universities, covering all undergraduate courses; fourth, they serve as a perfect model, highlighting the combination of teaching and cutting-edge technology, innovation and disciplines, effectively promoting the application and sharing of high-quality resources and advanced ideas in a wider range.
It is worth mentioning that the two selected courses also fully reflect the thinking and practice of our teaching innovation. We deeply integrate teaching with modern information technology, artificial intelligence technology with experimental teaching, so as to realize the teaching mode of undertaking experiment virtually. At the same time, SA&D will actively respond to the national and provincial planning of first-class undergraduate major construction and formulate a education system on par with the requirement of talent cultivation in a new era, application of new technology and teaching reform with supportive policies. We will step up efforts to carry out related discussion and study on the construction of first-class undergraduate courses, give full play to the exemplary role of the selected courses, and encourage all teachers to participate in the innovation of curriculum concept, content and teaching mode to improve course quality and specialty. With increasing efforts, we strive for more quality courses selected in the future.
